2017 Scholarship Recipients

The Renton Regional Community Foundation manages a number of scholarship funds and strongly supports your dream to pursue a post-secondary education. While some of our funds grant their scholarship money directly through a specific school or institution, many of our scholarship funds make their awards through our own Scholarship Committee. For those scholarships, apply directly through this website. Information is also available on washboard.org .

We are thrilled to report that in the spring of 2019 we awarded scholarships totaling nearly $120,000 to 31 students from around the region. This is the tenth year the Foundation has presented scholarships to youth who show promise not only in academics but in their community. Our 16 scholarship funds make this support possible.

Students who received scholarship awards have plans to become doctors, teachers, artists, social and mental health specialists, and more. All of the award-winners say their life's work moving forward is to help others live in safe and healthy environments where they can thrive, prosper, raise families and be productive, caring citizens.

“By awarding me the Helen Dyrdal Scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of college, learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.” Mustafa Musa Ahmed Mohamed, Renton Technical College in Computer Network Architecture program. Scholarship applications will open again on January 17, 2020. When applying for a scholarship, please review our list of current Scholarship Opportunities before you begin and apply using our online application process. If you choose to apply for more than one scholarship, you will need to access each application individually. Some common information you fill out will not need to be submitted a second time. You will be prompted to apply for all scholarships for which you are eligible, though you are not required to apply to all of them. Letters of recommendation must be submitted through the online process. Please allow up to two weeks for any letters of recommendation submissions.
